Product Manager, Client Development

Summary: You will manage two online services: Canadian-Lawyers.ca and totallegaljobs.ca. Canadian-Lawyers.ca Powered by Lawyers.comSM assists lawyers in attracting new clients, and is marketed to law firms and individual lawyers, and advertised to consumers who need to find a lawyer. Totallegaljobs.ca is a web site for posting legal jobs and is advertised to job seekers in the legal industry.

 

Responsibilities: You will manage the day-to-day business of Canadian-Lawyers.ca and totallegaljobs.ca, including marketing (online and print), sales support initiatives, product and web site enhancements, annual product plans, and budgets. You will:

  • Develop and implement annual product plans and budgets
  • Manage one product coordinator
  • Manage the ongoing responsibilities for the products (identify product enhancements to grow revenue or improve service; develop initiatives to improve search engine optimization; perform pricing; develop marketing collateral and sales support initiatives; and address day-to-day issues)
  • Develop and manage internal relationships (work with IT-development product managers in the U.S., and Marketing, Finance, and Customer Support teams)
  • Analyze market research to evaluate ongoing product/market requirements
  • Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers (web site development, search engine marketing)

 

Qualifications: 

  • 3 to 5 years of product management experience
  • Familiarity with web sites and online marketing (both business-to-business and business-to-consumer)
  • MBA or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Ability to identify and understand the needs of both the customer (lawyers and law firms) and the consumer
  • Strong fiscal management skills, business judgment, and analytical abilities
  • Ability to manage staff
  • Ability to analyze market research to determine product/market requirements
  • Ability to identify and implement new functionality and product enhancements for an established product
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Results-oriented
  • Excellent time management and strong computer skills
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently
  • Bilingual (an asset)
